Effects and Export

Add transitions, text overlays, and effects, then export your finished video.

Once your clips are arranged on the timeline, add transitions, text, and effects to polish your video before exporting.

Adding Transitions

Transitions smooth the cut between two adjacent clips.

  1. Click the Transitions tab in the left panel
  2. Browse the available transitions (fade, dissolve, wipe, slide, zoom)
  3. Drag a transition onto the junction between two clips on the timeline
  4. Adjust the duration by dragging the edges of the transition block

Common Transitions

Transition Best For
Fade Professional, subtle cuts
Dissolve Blending between scenes
Wipe Energetic, dynamic content
Slide Slideshow-style presentations

Tip: Less is more. One or two transition styles per video keeps it professional. Avoid mixing too many types.

Adding Text Overlays

  1. Click the Text tab in the left panel
  2. Choose a text style (title, subtitle, lower third, caption)
  3. Drag it onto a text track on the timeline
  4. Position it at the time you want it to appear
  5. Adjust the duration by trimming the text block's edges
  6. Double-click the text in the preview window to edit the content
  7. Use the properties panel to change font, size, color, position, and animation

Text Animations

Text elements can animate in and out:

  • Fade in/out — Smooth opacity change
  • Slide in/out — Text enters from a direction
  • Typewriter — Characters appear one at a time
  • Scale — Text grows or shrinks into position

Set the animation in the properties panel under the Animation section.

Visual Effects

Select a video clip and open the Effects section in the properties panel:

  • Brightness & Contrast — Lighten or darken the clip
  • Saturation — Boost or reduce color intensity
  • Blur — Apply a background blur effect
  • Oblique Blur — Directional motion-blur smear along a configurable angle (0–360°) and strength (0–50px). Toggle on, then drag the Angle and Strength sliders for a Photoshop-style directional blur.
  • Speed — Speed up or slow down the clip (0.5x to 4x)
  • Filters — Apply preset color filters (warm, cool, vintage, B&W)

Audio Effects

Select an audio clip to access audio-specific controls:

  • Volume — Set the clip's loudness level
  • Fade in / Fade out — Gradually increase or decrease volume at the start or end
  • Mute — Silence the clip without removing it
