Set up automated message responses triggered by keywords
Auto-Responder
The Auto-Responder lets you create automated replies that trigger when a customer sends a message containing specific keywords. This handles common questions instantly without manual effort.
Accessing Auto-Responder
Click Auto-Responder in the sidebar to view and manage your automated responses.
How It Works
- A customer sends a message to your connected Facebook page
- MarketDragon scans the message for matching keywords
- If a match is found, the configured response is sent automatically
- If no match is found, the message appears in Conversations for manual reply
Creating an Auto-Response
- Click Add Auto-Responder
- Configure the trigger:
- Keyword(s) -- The word or phrase that triggers this response (e.g., "hours", "pricing", "location")
- Match type -- Exact match or contains
- Write the response message
- Choose which connected pages this auto-responder applies to
- Click Save
Example Auto-Responders

Managing Auto-Responders
- Edit -- Click an auto-responder to update its keyword or message
- Disable -- Toggle an auto-responder off without deleting it
- Delete -- Remove an auto-responder permanently
Best Practices
- Keep responses friendly and helpful
- Include a question at the end to encourage further conversation
- Set up auto-responders for your most frequently asked questions
- Review your Conversations inbox regularly for messages that did not match any keyword
Tip: Start with 3-5 auto-responders covering your most common questions, then expand based on what customers ask.
