AI Image Generation

Generate images from text prompts directly inside the Canvas Editor.

The Canvas Editor includes a built-in AI image generator. Describe what you want, choose a style, and the AI creates an image you can place directly on your canvas.

How to Generate an Image

  1. Open the Canvas Editor with an existing or new design
  2. Click AI Generate in the left toolbar
  3. Type a description of the image you want in the prompt field
  4. Select a style (optional) — photorealistic, illustration, watercolor, 3D render, etc.
  5. Choose the aspect ratio that fits your canvas
  6. Click Generate
  7. The AI produces the image in a few seconds
  8. Click the result to add it to your canvas

Writing Good Prompts

The more specific your prompt, the better the result.

Be Descriptive

Instead of: "A dog"

Try: "A golden retriever puppy sitting in a sunlit garden, soft focus background, warm natural lighting"

Specify the Style

Include visual style keywords:

  • "Flat design illustration of..."
  • "Photorealistic close-up of..."
  • "Minimalist line art of..."
  • "Watercolor painting of..."

Include Context

Describe the setting, lighting, mood, and composition:

  • "A coffee cup on a marble table, overhead shot, morning light, steam rising"
  • "A busy city street at sunset, neon signs, motion blur, cinematic"

Things to Avoid

  • Very abstract or contradictory descriptions
  • Extremely long prompts — focus on the key visual elements
  • Text in images — AI-generated text is often garbled

Using Generated Images

Once the image is on your canvas, you can:

  • Resize it to fit your layout
  • Crop it using the crop tool
  • Layer text, shapes, and icons on top
  • Adjust opacity for use as a background
  • Generate variations — go back to AI Generate and tweak the prompt

AI Credits

Each generation uses AI credits from your subscription. Check your remaining credits in Settings > Billing. Higher quality and larger resolutions may use more credits per generation.

Tip: Generate a few variations with slightly different prompts to find the best result before adding it to your final design.
